Board of Directors

Aspire Homes Australia is led by a board of directors who bring specific skills, expertise and sector experience to guide our journey as a not-for-profit organisation and to plan for a future with sustainable growth, realistic expectations and achievable goals.

Together, they hold forward-thinking perspectives, address challenges and find solutions that maintain high quality service delivery to our partners, stakeholders and the children and young people we care for. The board helps us to take a deep dive into the complexities and challenges of statutory out-of-home care in NSW and strive for excellence and positive experiences and outcomes at all levels.

Justin Thornton Chair

Justin is a Solicitor who holds a Specialist Accreditation in Business Law. Justin has provided advice to a diverse range of corporations and businesses generally over his twenty (20) year career as a commercial Solicitor, including with respect to Board Governance. Justin also has broad experience with not for profit entities and has sat on not for profit boards for a number of

years.

Daniel Angus Director

Daniel is fully licensed clinical psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Authority and holds Membership with the Australian Psychological Society. Daniel has worked with young people and families in the adolescent mental health sector, most recently in Private Practice, with Canteen Australia and with Headspace Services in Western Sydney from 2012 where he also managed the Primary Care and Headspace Youth Early Psychosis Program.

Jay Bolton Director

Jay Bolton loves seeing people achieve beyond their own expectations. He has supported professional athletes and senior managers across a range of organisations to overcome obstacles and develop physical and mental capacities to learn new approaches and achieve strategic goals. Jay is an innovative thinker who constantly challenges societal norms and persistent problems with the understanding that there is always a solution.

Rachael Atkinson Director

Rachael is the Principal Officer and Practice Manager for Aspire Homes.
Rachael has worked in the NSW out-of-home care sector for 21 years across a range of senior roles. She was an active participant in the implementation of Intensive Therapeutic Care programs for a not-for-profit organisation and clearly understands NSW accreditation standards and their reflections within policy, procedure and practice guidelines.
